I need the sun In my life to live I fear the nightfall Will bring about the end This world I stand on It will burn again We can fight the night And wake the fear Of all that we have held inside Cause all we have is rhetoric I dreamt again Anticipating death Out in the ocean Safely in my bed The stars above me Looking down from space Their gaze will haunt me Forever scar this place We can fight the night And wake the fear Of all that we have held inside Cause all we have is rhetoric Burn Burn Burn it down for your safety Burn Burn Oh the flames of insanity Burn Burn You know that it has to Burn Burn Burn We can fight the night And wake the fear Of all that we have held inside Cause all we have is rhetoric

I could tell more than anything else All I'd ever get from this city was a letdown How will you ever know just what you wanna be When everything around you Is only half as deep as you'd want to see Well maybe it's around here All I want to do is waste away Turn the page on another day But it's too soon Lack of clarity has bled me dry All I crave is the American Night So dark and true How will you ever know just what you wanna be When everything around you Is only half as deep as you'd want to see Well maybe it's around here How will you ever know just what you wanna be When everything around you (All I want to do is waste away) Is only half as deep as you'd want to see (Turn the page on another day) Well maybe it's around here How will you ever know just what you wanna be (All I want to do is waste away) Maybe it's around here (Turn the page on another day)

Chicago's too cold Bring those boys back home I miss the nights of getting so high Driving around getting nowhere Thinking this is the life Oh and this is the life Oh and hey how are you? Did you be what you wanted to be? Did you see yourself on the TV? Did you feel like nothing else mattered? Oh and Jake how's Seattle? I hear it's really nice over there Do you get so lonely when they ship you out to sea? Oh and nothing will compare To the year of skulls and knives To the year that we considered Ourselves family So this one's to WBD and the CCC And everyone in between To the girl that stole our hearts To Lar and Mark Oh and nothing will compare To the year of skulls and knives To the year that we considered Ourselves family

about

On June 10, 2008 we got lost driving on a lonely highway through the woods of Arkansas. With no gas in the 91’ Ford we accepted the fact that we would be stranded overnight until the world around us woke back up. There we were, hopeless and alone. Lost in the American Night. We’ve never felt so alive and free.
